Terms of Service
Last updated: April 8, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Recure application (the "App"). By creating an account or continuing to use the App, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. What Recure is
Recure is an app for shared tracking of recurring household chores inside a "household" (a group of people living together). It lets you create chores, mark them done, and see who did what and when.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for all activity performed under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information at sign-up.
- The App is for personal, non-commercial use.
- One account per person. Do not share your login.
3. What you may and may not do
You agree not to:
- break laws applicable to you;
- attempt to access other users' accounts or data;
- send automated requests that bypass the App's interface at rates that degrade the service for others;
- attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the service;
- use the App to distribute unlawful, offensive, or fraudulent content.
If you violate these rules, we may limit or suspend your access.
4. Shared data
Households and chores are shared among members of the same household. This means:
- Other members of your household can see your name, color, and chore completions.
- If you delete your account, your completion entries are deleted. Households and chores are preserved for remaining members if there are any.
- A household owner can remove members and transfer ownership.
5. Availability
We make reasonable efforts to keep the App available and working correctly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free operation. Planned and unplanned downtime is possible: updates, infrastructure maintenance, and outages at our hosting and connectivity providers.
We are not liable for data loss caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Do not use Recure as your single source of truth for critical information.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or freedom from errors.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or punitive damages arising out of your use of or inability to use the App. In any case, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the last 12 months (if you paid nothing, that amount is zero).
8. Pricing and payments
At the time these terms are published, the App is free and has no in-app purchases. If paid features are introduced in the future, the terms will be updated, and any functionality that was previously free will not be placed behind a paywall without explicit notice.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If changes are material, we will update the date at the top and notify users in the App before they take effect. By continuing to use the App after the changes, you accept the new version.
10. Termination
You can stop using the App at any time by deleting your account in Settings → Delete account. We may stop offering the service entirely, with advance notice where possible.
11. Governing law
Consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply where applicable. Otherwise, these terms are governed by the law of the place where the service is effectively provided, interpreted in good faith.
